Our mission at Carolina Covertech is To Make Life Better for our customers, team members, trade partners and the community in which we serve. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.

Specific Job Duties:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on productions machine; able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; trouble shooting malfunctions.
• Able to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, etc
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routing preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts, by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Needs to have the initiative to trouble shoot and respond with minimal guidance.
• Assembly of small components
• Clean work area
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Ensure consistent and quality work product in a timely manner across the entire department.
• Duties may require sitting, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, stepping over items, twisting, lifting, reaching, or bending, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions and stooping for periods of time. You will consistently be required to use your hands with fine manipulation and use various tools.
• Occasionally be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Mechanically inclined with good manual capabilities and common sense.
• Able to read tape measure.
• Electrical experience is preferred
• Knowledge with industrial sewing machines is a plus
• Knowledge in RF heat sealers is a plus

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of responsible experience in mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Language Skills: Ability to follow verbal directions and written process instructions.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
